My Other "Wild" Side

Fashion accessories - leopard print

My DKNY Jacket Coat - leopard print

Pretty top from Wet Seal - tiger print

Kate Spade purse - leopard print

Cheap blouse- zebra print

Geez. I just realized that I had this other wild side of me, hahaha! I am not good in recognizing animal print so bear with me if I labeled one or two photos incorrectly.

Except for the fashion jewelry, all the rest is product of my "thrifting". I think they are pretty cool!

I have read from the Twitterworld that "Annebisyosa: No Other Concert", held last January 28th, at the Araneta Coliseum was a big success! Thanks to my fellow fans who bought tickets to support the beautiful, inside and out, Ms. Anne Curtis-Smith. If I were there in Manila, I would have loved to witness the concert to support her.

Of course she made a lot of mistakes and off keys, hehehe! And she humbly admitted them. Per her twit,  @annecurtissmith "You know how i know it was my concert? It was super unperfect! I made so many mistakes but it didn't matter coz that's ME! Tanggap nyo un!"

Congratulations Ms. gANNEda for the success of your first and last concert in Manila!

Thank you everyone!

When it Snows Like Crazy

Hello!

A friend of mine shared this video on Facebook and I thought to blog it to give my family and friends in the Philippines an idea what is likely to  happen when it snows heavily.

Please check it out.

I Want One!

What a unique ashtray design! Thanks to the owner.

I want one for hubby!

His smoking habit is driving me crazy. I did everything to make him quit but to no avail. He did try smoking  e-cigars, patches, pills, etc. but didn't help all the same. Sigh.

I'm wondering if he could get enough nerves to use this ashtray when I replace his old one. Maybe he would realize (in the truest sense of the word), the incredible side effects of smoking and would decide to quit right there and then! Just my wishful thinking!  Or maybe, he would check it out and think about it for awhile but would rather use it anyway. Grrr!

Sigh.

Lechon Sans Cholesterol

lechon pig, este, lechon bread

I was blog surfing earlier when I chanced upon this cool blog and this photo have caught my eyes so I thought to reblog it. Isn't that lechon looks real? I am truly amazed of this brilliant piece of "art"! Hats off to the baker, hehehe!

My father's side is going to have a big reunion this coming May in Bohol, Philippines and I promised to share 1 lechon pig only. I might buy 10 lechon bread instead, hahahaha! Just kidding :)

Anne Curtis' "Annebisyosa: No Other Concert"

This girl is truly the best example of a "Trying Hard or TH" person to the highest level, hahaha! But don't get me wrong, I love this girl! She was the only reason why I went to Lake Tahoe during the "Wowowee World Tour" 3 years ago. She was one of the guests that time.

She has an oozing confidence that inspires a lot of people including myself. And she is one of the few showbiz artists that has no bad blood at all. She's beautiful and cool!

She's gonna rock Aranea Coliseum this coming January 28th! According to her, the initials "A.C." is not Anne Curtis but it's Araneta Coliseum, hehehe! I heard that her tickets are all sold out already. Wow! I hope it's true!

Way to go Ms. Anne Curtis!

I've Got Something!

Hubby and I were taking a morning nap when the doorbell rang. We ignored it. Hubby had to catch some sleep because he had to work night-shift.

When he started snoring, I got up to prepare his baon. Afterwards, I cleaned the kitchen and gathered the rubbish to put them in the bin outside. When I opened the door, I saw this lovely gift jar on the doorstep.

Thanks to the donor :)

One Answered Prayer

GOD is good all the time!

I've been going to this particular church since the day my teeners and I chose it. I mean, my teeners and I decided to go for this certain church after attending more or less 5 different churches here in the United States. Actually, my American friend Brenda chose it too. But eventually she quit going there and when I talked to her she said she had found a different church.

After a long time, I decided to attend a membership class. After the class, I felt like there was something that quite bothered me. I prayed. I decided to observe more. After 2 weeks, the Pastor quit because he and his family are moving to Texas. His last Sunday was the 8th of January. I was not surprised because people here come and go as they please.

The resignation of the Pastor somehow gave me an idea to look for a different church. I prayed that I could find another church. I thought to go to where Brenda goes yet I was skeptical. Last Saturday, January 14, someone knocked on my door and when I opened it,  I saw a mother carrying her 2 sons while handing out an invitation card. I took the card, smiled and said "thank you". The card was from the Lighthouse Baptist Church. I have never been to this church. I told hubby about it and we agreed to visit the church the next day.

So hubby and I went to Lighthouse Baptist Church,Sunday, January 15. I was very thankful and grateful having us there. I don't want to put it into details but the church is the American version of the Bible Baptist Church back in the Philippines where my kids and I are members.  I have finally found the right church for me. Thank God!

When I went there this morning, (hubby had to sleep because he is working night shift),  I found out that  the church is going to have an International Fellowship Supper on February 5th after the Evening Service so I signed up to bring Filipino dish and dessert. Can't wait for that day!

God indeed answers prayer!

I have never heard about these places: Suriname, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. They are new to me!

Anyway, I wanna go to Brunei! I heard that Brunei has no traffic lights over there. Well, that is something! Silly me but that really made me curious.

How about you? Would you like to go to those never-heard-before countries for an adventure? Or would you like to go to our neighboring countries like Malaysia? Singapore? or Hongkong?  Or would you rather fly to San Paolo, Brazil?

Before you go to a certain country, make sure to do some research first about the country's culture, dress code, weather, peace and order situation, etc. It's better be safe than sorry, you know :)

Going "Fashionista"

My pink purse

My pink boots

Nice pair :)

It's my first time to post stuff like these. I mean, I have not  posted anything about my clothes, shoes, and purses/bags until today. I am doing this to break the sort of a "news reporting" posts that I have been blogging lately.

I am not a fashionista, hehehe,  but I guess I'm getting there, nyahahaha! Joke. Okey, let's talk about my pink purse and boots. Everytime I wear them I feel like, I look so nice and oh, so pretty, nyahahaha! It is because I always get complimentary remarks like, "Oh, I like your boots and purse!", "Wow, they are gorgeous!" "You look great in them! " Blah blah and blah.

Let me tell you a secret, I got them from a garage sales from different owners. They are not designer's stuff but if you get them for $1.50 or $3.00 each, why not? You got a flippin' good deal at that, right?

My Filipina friends and I love going to yard/garage sales every summer.  Well, here in the US, you could get brand new stuff with or without tag from yard/garage sales and thrift stores pretty cheap. I like cheap stuff (but good ones) because I am practical and well, poor, hehehe! Besides, I have 2 college students back home so I can't splurge.

Oops! did I tell you that one of the lucky colors for 2012 is Pink? I got that from a Feng Shui expert. And did you also know that pointed-style shoes is "in"  this year? Ahem, that makes me a "fashionista"!

King Cobra Attacked, Victim Died in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur

It  seems like I have become a news reporter lately. I just can't help it especially if the subject is close to my heart. I'm hoping you won't get tired of reading my blogs though.

Anyway, per news that I have gathered via FB (Agusanun Ako), a wife had been attacked by a King Cobra while entering her home after doing her laundry outside. The victim was Norlinda R. Baluca, 54 years old, Barangay Pisaan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. I knew the victim's husband, Eddie Baluca, my former co-worker when I was assigned to Provincial Information Office, Province of Agusan del Sur for a while. And I've been to Barangay Pisaan many times delivering social services back then.

According to neighbors, the victim ran to her room but the King Cobra ran after her to attack her again even she was atop the bed already. The neighbors killed the king cobra and they rushed the victim to the hospital but she eventually died. Apparently, the hospital nurses were not able to treat her right away because there was no doctor around to prescribe an anti-venom drug.

Reports says that a neighbor of the victim had killed a king cobra the previous day. And they had noticed cobra sightings after the place got flooded last December.

My heartfelt Condolences to Kuya Eddie Baluca and family.

"Fish Rain" in Loreto, Agusan del Sur, Identified

Mudfish fry

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR of Caraga Region headed by Dir. Asis Perez has identified the 3-inch fish  that fell out from the sky in Loreto, Agusan del Sur as fry or baby Mudfish.

The “fish rain” may have resulted from the formation of waterspout occuring as cummu-nimbus clouds develop. It sucks up particles and objects, such as fish, from the sea or bodies of water.

After the peculiar occurence happened in Loreto, Agusan del Sur, many people are now visiting the place to see the "fish rain".

Thanks for visiting!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at the Golden Globe Awards 2012

The power couple has arrived at the Golden Globes Award 2012, Sunday, at the Beverly Hills, California.

Ms. Jolie is very skinny! She is wearing Atelier Versace gown.

Brad Pitt is stunning as usual :) He is walking with the aid of a cane after a knee injury, apparently, he slipped and fell while taking care of daughter Vivienne.

Both are going to present an award together. Also, Brad Pitt is up for Best Actor and Best Motion Picture Drama for the film Moneyball. Whereas, Ms. Jolie is nominated for her directorial debut In the Land of Milk and Honey.

On the red carpet, Angelina Jolie is asked what is the one thing she's looking forward to doing after the Globes awards are over. "Getting into bed with Brad," she said, smiling and laughing. Whew!

Laura Kaeppeler (credit to the owner)

I so love beauty pageants! When I was still back home, I've headed local pageants in our barangay for 4 consecutive years. I thought it was cool :)

Anyway, when I came across this news I thought to blog it right away.

Laura Kaeppeler, a 23-year-old beauty queen from Wisconsin bagged the crown of  Miss America 2012, Saturday, US time in Las Vegas, Nevada. She won among 52 equally beautiful and intelligent young women across the United States.

She won a $50,000 scholarship and a yearlong run with the crown.  Her answer on the question about whether Miss America should declare her political affiliation was, "Miss America represents everyone ... Miss America represents all."  Second placer was Betty Thompson from Oklahoma while came in  third was Kaitlyn Monte from New York.
