They say, "Life begins at Forty"... well, I just turned 40 last September 17 and I am very glad that I've been able to reach this age considering the wreck that I had encountered last August. In my case, life began at 40 indeed.
I would like to share the things that I've been thankful and grateful for at this particular year of my life. By the way, for those who are interested to know me more, you may check this post which I had written 4 years ago in the celebration of my 36th birthday. Only if you are interested :)
The list:
New life.
This is what I am most thankful for everyday. God is so great that HE protected me during the wreck. HE let me reached my 40th birthday. God is so amazing!
No ticket.
This was my biggest fear after the accident happened. I didn't want to go to court to pay for the ticket and I didn't want a bad record in my driving history. The Nevada Traffic Officer said that if I can't receive a ticket in my mail in 3 weeks, that means, I have not violated any traffic laws, something like that. It's been more than a month and I haven't gotten one. I felt so relieved!
New car.
Not a brand new one though. But I am still very thankful! It's hard to live in the United States if you don't have a dependable car. My new car is White 2012 Impala LTZ by Chevrolet. It has nice features and has only 15,000 miles on it and the first owner had it for 6 months only. The brand new Impala costs more than $30,000.00 and I got mine which is almost new for $19,999.00 in Arizona. It was a screaming deal!
Quality time with hubby.
I had a great time with hubby during our travel to Arizona to get the car. We rode a train going to Reno, flew to Phoenix, Arizona via San Diego, California, had sumptuous dinner at my stepson's home (his Italian wife is a good cook) and stayed one night in Las Vegas before heading home. Being with hubby is one of my sources of genuine happiness.
Having Jen and Jun.
They are my treasures. Having great kids (they are still kids for me even if they are both adult already, hehehe) like them is priceless. They are thousand miles away but thanks to the power of technology, they seem like they are just a 100 miles away.
Family (US and Philippines)
They are always there for me. They are my inspirations.
Good friends.
They are always there for me. They are my inspirations.
Good friends.
Without them, life would have been so boring, hehehe!
The last but not the least:
Becoming a US Citizen.
Yup. Pretty soon. I already got a notice of the oath taking ceremony from the USCIS.
I am grateful for all the these things. Thank you dear God!
And thank you for visiting here :)
You have a good one!
happy birthday! =)
