When it Snows Like Crazy

Hello!

A friend of mine shared this video on Facebook and I thought to blog it to give my family and friends in the Philippines an idea what is likely to  happen when it snows heavily.

Please check it out.

Thanks for dropping by!

Snowing and Thereafter Shoots

Last night

with Mr. Sunshine :)

Last night (that's my friend Nathalie)

This morning

Last night

This morning

with Mr. Sunshine :)

It's pretty chilly outhere now. Brr!

I supposed to watch "Breaking Dawn" with my friends last night but it snowed like crazy. I tried to take good pictures while snowing but I can't find my Nikon Camera so I used my Android cellphone instead, so please bear with my poor quality photos.

Anyway, when I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was taking photos again :) What a white morning it was!

Good day Winnemucca people! Let's keep ourselves warm!

Thanks for the visit. Please come back soon :)

Bye!

It Snowed Last Night

white thing called snow

It's been pretty cold these past few days but it snowed just last night. It was good though. I am chilling right now, brr!

I hope I can start my car without hassle so that I can go to church today. It's gonna be my first time driving in a snowy road. But hubby assured me that by 11:00am, the snow should have been melted already.

Oh, I am hoping so.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Fall/Autumn is my Favorite Season

Leaves up there and in the ground :)

What a pretty tree!

My Pinay friends pose under the tree

Woow...!

I went brisk walking today and I can't help but take photos of these beautiful trees along the way.

Then I remembered the song that goes, "Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall..."

I so love Fall or Autumn among them four seasons. And I was like (to myself), "why?" I had some really deep thoughts about it.

And I came up with only one reason: because the color of the leaves in the trees and in the ground is priceless. The whole surrounding is incredibly beautiful for me. I supposed to say, "Amazing"!

Some people might like Summer because they enjoy the heat of the sun, the barbecue and picnics outdoor, etc. Others might like Spring because of the rain and the flowers that start to bloom. And I think, mostly kids, like Winter because of the snow that covers everything outside. Just my two cents :)

But yeah, I love Fall because I love the color that it brings. God is really Amazing for creating such a beautiful season.

Have a good one!

Winter 2010

I like it when it snows because it makes the surroundings bright and pretty. On the other hand, I dislike it because the coldness makes me shiver to the bone. Brrr...

Last winter, my kids were in the Philippines so I was lonely. Now that they are here, we are planning to go to Mt. Rose in Reno to enjoy some winter sports like skiing, sledding, skiboarding, among others. We are already excited for it. God willing, this plan would be pushed through.

Last week, it snowed a lot and the temperature went down to negative one degrees, brrr (again).

Here  are some photos that I would like to share:

More posts and photos coming up. Thanks for dropping-by.

So long!

Rain is coming!

Does this view look familiar? I had one photo of the same view taken when it snowed last week. This is what it looks like without snow. This time, we see the dark clouds that smothered the sky.

It's going to rain! Yeheey! Well, as I am writing this, rain drops starting to fall outside already.

I wish this picture were taken in the Philippines. My country needs rain, a lot of rain, to combat el nino.

Sad news has been reported of the effects of  el nino phenomenon in the Philippines. Animals and crops were already damaged and killed. Water dams and reservoirs are almost depleting. People are seeking for government help and support especially farmers and livestock raisers. Power supply has been limited and consistent rotating brown-outs has been scheduled all throughout the country.

I am very sad on what has been happening to my country now. I am worried of my loved ones back there. I hope they are all safe and sound amidst drought.

"Rain, rain, go away, go to the Philippines to send el nino away!"

I'ts Baack!

As soon as I opened my eyes this morning, I turned on the TV to watch The Filipino Channel or TFC. But there was no signal! I went to the living room and asked hubby who's busy on his computer. He said to peek at the blinds to get the answer.

When I check it out, OMG, it's snowing outside!
What a beautiful scene! (but this made the satellite dish frozen)  I rushed to my room to get my camera. Click! ' got it!

I really thought that Winter is going and that Spring is coming very very soon. I was totally wrong! Anyways, one thing that I like when it snows is the snow itself. I like to make a snow ball, play it with my hands just to feel its coldness or just to take pictures!

Snow blankets everything outside and makes it looks white and  wonderful.

This creation of God is totally amazing!

The Beauty of Winter

I took these pictures when hubby and I went to Oddie Park in Reno. The place was very quiet but breathtakingly beautiful!

Last year, I thought I hate winter. I hated it because I thought I couldn't stand the coldness. But when the summer came, I also thought I couldn't stand the heat!

I came across this quotation, “Winter is the season in which people try to keep the house as warm as it was in the summer, when they complained about the heat”. Bull's eye me!

Now I just don't mind the coldness that winter brings but appreciate and enjoy the awesome beauty it brings.

Brrrrrr!!!

I Hate Snow!

When I was still back home, I wished to see and feel snow. I guess, everyone wishes the same though.

The first time it snowed here, I was like a child playing in the snow. I thought everything was bright and pretty. It was such an amazing experience for me.

But lately I have disliked it. A lot!

You may want to know why. Well, for a lot of reasons. But in fairness to the Mother Nature, the beauty of the snow which amazed me pretty well the first time was always there. But the feelings I had before is kind of different now. I hate to say this but I really don’t want snow anymore.

Snow could freeze me to death. As in. I need to have thick and warm clothes on or else I would freeze. It is very uncomfortable for me to wear thick clothes since they are heavy, yikes.

It could freeze the water pipes, hence, you would get no water. Could you imagine that? No water at all!

Besides, snow makes the road slick. You have to drive carefully and defensively to avoid mishap. The brakes would not do well and so the steering wheel. And when you walk you should be very careful so that you wouldn’t get a fall or else you will be sorry for yourself.

Here’s another reason, the bill for electricity would increase triple because of the heater, gosh!

Based on the aforementioned reasons above, do you think you would still wish to see and feel snow?

Take it from me, you would surely scream like this, “Iiiiiiiiiiii haaaaaaaaaaate this plaaaace! And I am certain that you would wish to come back home and stay for good, hehehe!

It Snowed Here Today!

It’s like a dream come true to me.

Wooow! I got to see the snowflakes fell and got to touch the snow on the ground here for the first time! I have seen this only in movies! When we got here in US last April, I got to touch a “leftover” snow along the road going to Round Mountain but the feeling today was quite different.

I woke up around 6am today and it was still dark outside. Hubby came home around 7:00am and he told me that it snowed last night. I thought he was just kidding me. I went back to bed and curled up to keep me warm while waiting for Brenda since we agreed to walk at 8:30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

I woke up again around 8:15 then I noticed that our room seemed bright. When I peeked at the window blinds, I was really surprised! Oh My GOD! The yard was covered with snow! And when I looked up at the neighbor’s roof, it was also covered with snow! I ran towards the living room shouting to Jen and Jun about what I saw and they were laughing at me, they said I was too late because they already saw it and enjoyed the scene earlier. Oh gosh, I was late!

Anyways, Brenda came and we headed for a walk. I wore 3 layers of thick jogging pants aside from my warm wear and I wore 3 layers of sweater with hood, a bonnet and a thick gloves. Brenda wore same stuff too. We looked like Ninjas. Well, gorgeous ninjas! Ahem!

While walking, I got to appreciate the wonders created by God. Everything was white, the roofs, the yards, the trees and the flowers. The cars that parked outside got snowed too. Everything looked white, bright, pretty and amazing! The wind blew way too cold! Brrrrrr! I felt like I was a child taking off my gloves once in awhile and touching the snow in a car, in a plant and even in a fence! I scraped snow in a parked car and made a snowball and I played with them in my hands. I embraced the cold air, I laughed and I really enjoyed the beauty around me! I got really crazy! Brenda and I laughed together! She was happy to see me laughing and playing with the snow. She said I have not seen the whole scene on winter yet and wait until snow is 2- inch thick from the ground! Well, I don’t think I can still survive to walk when that time comes, yikes!

While exposed to the cold environment, I got runny nose and I was already shaking. And I thought to walk backwards to get rid of the cold wind that blew on my cheek, hehehe! But I was wondering how the ants, the rabbits and other animals and insects have survived in cold weather like this. I could not imagine!

Brenda said that according to the advanced weather forecast, it would be warmer tomorrow so there will be no snow. She added that it got snowed earlier this time, it is usually get snowed here only after Halloween so maybe we will have a bad winter days ahead.

Well, we will see. I cannot wait to see more snow in the next coming days!

I wished my family and friends in the Philippines will experience this! They will surely appreciate this wonderful thing on the other side of the earth that God had created!

God Bless everyone!
