Thank you and Goodbye 2015!

2015 was by far the most successful year for me. At some point, broke my heart as well.

My kids graduated from college, thus, husband and  I went to the Philippines. Kids moved back to the United States for good and both landed a good job. I got a job in the mine which was my dream job. And thank God everyone has been in good health.

I am very thankful and grateful to the Lord Almighty for all the blessings that I received. I felt so very blessed that sometimes I would think that I do not deserved them because I thought I have sinned enough to make the Lord spank me or something like that. But as a friend have told me, Lord Jesus meant to blessed me  and that it was not a mistake. She added that the blessings I received are meant for me and I deserved them. Amen!

Every parent's dream is to see his/her kids finish school. I have witnessed mine this year. It was very fulfilling. Because it was an important occasion, hubby and I traveled to the Philippines. We had a great time! Seeing my family, relatives and friends again are priceless! My kids returned to the United States for good and eventually got a job, both on their first interview which is pretty amazing. I bid out a job in the mine and I thought it was okay if I don't get it because I believed that I can't be that lucky or I can't have everything since my kids just got a job but I was very surprised that it was offered to me. I was the happiest person on earth that time!

It would have been perfect until I heard a very sad news. My very good friend Vanessa demised. It was truly heartbreaking. My trip to the Philippines in the future will never be the same again without her. I will miss her forever.

2015 has given me bittersweet memories. Thank you and goodbye 2015!

A September to Remember

Birthday banner posted in the break room at work

Beautiful flowers courtesy of my co-workers

Blowing my birthday cake. I look horrible, hahaha!

My son got a yummy ice cream birthday cake

 The sticker is self-explanatory

September 2015 has been very good to me. I've turned 43, I have a job with good benefits and an awesome boss and co-workers in the company where I have been dreaming to be a part of,  for a long time.

Apart from that, as always, I have with me my ever caring husband and my kids finally for good, after they graduated from college in the Philippines last March 2015. I bought me a used but Authentic Louis Vuitton tote just for the heck of it, you know, which I later regretted because I realized I don't really need another purse.

My daughter got a job that she likes a lot. It was her first job application and first interview ever, which is  really, really cool. My son on the other hand, just turned 24 and he just had his grades evaluated by WES being a graduate from a foreign country. Right now, he is doing some reviews for ASPi examination next month.

The Living Our Values Award (LOVA) has 4 categories and I was nominated for 2 categories; High Performance and Putting People First, respectively. It might not be a  really a big thing for some since there were like 300 nominees but  there are around 800 employees in the company so I still think it is pretty neat, especially when I attended the BBQ picnic during the awarding program with hubby. I was able to meet other employees in the company, had a great time and good food.

I couldn't really ask for more. I am very very thankful and grateful to the Lord for all these things that happened on my birth month. My family and I have been so blessed. I hope and pray for another good birthday month next year and the coming years ahead.

Thank you for dropping by! Have a good one!

My Forty Something Birthday Celebration

My Birthday cake and card from my bosses and co-workers

It was such a blessing when I woke up alive and kicking that morning and I was very grateful and thankful to the Lord Almighty.

Compared to last year, this year's birthday was just like an ordinary day because hubby was working nights and when he works nights, that means we would not see each other until his day off. He would leave at 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon, and I would leave at 7:30 o'clock in morning and hubby would still be driving from work that time. We would just wave to each other when we see each other down the road.

Anyway, the clinic was very busy because it was a "two-doctor" day, which means, my two bosses (eye doctors) were working at the same time. Each doctor has at least 18 patients not to include emergency patients. So imagine how busy that day was.

It was mid-day when my former Supervisor, Mr. Dave Kulsley (from The Winnemucca Inn and Casino) came in and greeted me "Happy Birthday!" I was very surprised! I remember when I was in the Philippines and celebrated my birthday with my family back there, I got a gift from him thru the mail. He was the most thoughtful person I have ever met in this foreign land. I gave him a hug and talked to him for like a minute or two.

That was when my co-workers knew that it was my birthday, hehehe! One of the patients gave me a dollar, according to her, in Michigan, the birthday celebrator would get a dollar then pin it in any part of her dress, then people would match another dollar (reminds me during a wedding, if you know what I meant, hehehe!) I did not pin it in my dress, we were too busy to do silly things like that, hahaha! But I told her and my co-workers that in the Philippines, we have this so called "Birthday leave" so we would not go to work and we are still get paid. They were like, "Wow, cool!"

Around 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon, the Office Manager brought a birthday cake and card but everyone was too busy to sing me a birthday song and I was too busy to blow my cake. Time has passed and we still couldn't get a chance until it was about time to leave. Everyone was exhausted and we decided to just put the cake in the refrigerator and we will deal with it the next day.

So the following day, before we did anything else, I was able to blow my cake after they sang a happy birthday song for me. We had a vanilla cake and coffee to start another two-doctor day.

At lunch time, my friends Brenda and Rowena picked me up and took me to a Chinese restaurant as their birthday gift. That was so nice and sweet of them! Brenda gave me a birthday card with a very nice message. Brenda has been very good to me and she has not ever changed since day one of our friendship.

That's how I celebrated my forty something birthday :) Until now, I have not gotten anything from hubby yet, we'll see!

Thanks for dropping by!

Personalized License Plates

The photos above are taken last winter, hence, the snow

I was screaming mad when I learned that hubby put my "favorite" nickname in my car's license plate. One reason why I did not like it, is because it costs us more money compared to getting ordinary license plate. It doesn't cost us a fortune though but it is still money you know.

But after I have seen cars with personalized license plate in them, I somehow mellowed down. I should be happy of my husband's thoughtfulness. And there is no reason to get mad at all.

One of my Pinay friends, Ann, just bought a new car and she is planning to have her license plate named either, "PINAYAKO" or "PINAYME". I said, "I think, PINAYME is cool" :) Whatjayathink?

Anyway, another reason why I did not like my name in the plate is because I will be recognized easily, but I was thinking, as long as I do not make any violation, I will be fine.

Thanks for dropping by :)
